I Forgot About This Place

It doesn't have the baggage my old blog had. I don't see cancer when I look at the title. Maybe I will come back here. Might be just what the doctore ordered.

Texas

So far, I can say this.

The only mistake I may have ever made in life is not coming here earlier.

I remember when I went to Utah, I knew on my first day of work I had made a gigantic mistake. I mean I can't complain about those guys too much because they treated me well. Who else would have paid me for a year and 9 months to do nothing? The fact is, though, the job sucked.

On my first day here, I was made to feel welcome and part of the group. I suppose things could change tomorrow, but so far, things have been pretty damned good.

Oh, and the weather. It is February and I am wearing shorts.

Food For Thought

There's a program on National Geographic Channel tonight called "Aftermath: Population Zero" about what will happen to earth when human life here ends.

Ummmmmm...

Who cares what happens to earth after we are gone? Certainly not me.

Oh.....

Like you never figured it the fuck out!

The Mathematics of Ugly

I am working on a new theory regarding the mathematics of ugly. I have found that if you add ugly to ugly, you get real ugly. In order to simplify for those of you who are mathematically challenged, please refer to the following illustration:

Fascinating, isn't it?

At The Door

I never know exactly where dreams come from. They always seem to take me by surprise. As dreams go though, last night's dream ranked right up there.

I was walking through a place that had dirt floors and numerous doors all leading to other rooms. I was with my cousin Jim and we were casually looking into rooms trying to find our way out. We knew the lion was there, but just didn't know where. Finally we found a room with a door that lead to the outside. We discussed it for a moment, but knew we had to get out somehow so we both stepped through the room and started running as fast as we could.

Just a few feet from the door I turned and looked behind me and could see the lion bounding up from out of nowhere. He was enormous and full of anger and was gaining on us. Somehow I lost track of my cousin Jim and was running as fast and as hard as I could for the door. Just as I got there, the door opened and I stepped through into the bright sunlight and the door slammed shut behind me.

Standing beside the door was a tall well dressed man wearing a fedora. It was my Uncle Jack. He helped me hold he door closed while the lion tried to get to us. I asked Uncle Jack how he was because I hadn't seen him since he died back in 1992. He said he was doing fine, but that he really wanted to see his son, my cousin Jim. I told him that I didn't know where he was because we were running so fast that we somehow got separated.

After a while the lion gave up and went away and shortly after that there was a gentle tap at the door. It was my cousin Jim. I opened the door and was so moved to see how happy he was to see his father again.

And then I woke up because I had to pee.

And I'm always happy when I wake up before I pee.

Seriously,

I am starting to like this place.

I wonder if the neighbors will think badly of me?

I was trying to find my way home,
But all I heard was a drone.
Bouncin' off a satellite
Crushing the last long American night.

This is radio nowhere.
Is there anybody alive out there?
This is radio nowhere.
Is there anybody alive out there?

I was sitting around a dirt dial
Just another lost number in a file.
Been in some kinda dark cove
Just searching for a world with some soul.

This is radio nowhere.
Is there anybody alive out there?
This is radio nowhere.
Is there anybody alive out there?
Is there anybody alive out there?

I just want to hear some rhythm.
I just want to hear some rhythm
I just want to hear some rhythm.
I just want to hear some rhythm.

I want a thousand guitars.
I want pounding drums.
I want a million different voices speaking in tongues.

This is radio nowhere.
Is there anybody alive out there?
This is radio nowhere.
Is there anybody alive out there?
Is there anybody alive out there?

I was driving thru the misty rain
Yeah, searching for a mystery train.
Bopping thru the wild blue
Trying to make a connection with you.

This is radio nowhere.
Is there anybody alive out there?
This is radio nowhere.
Is there anybody alive out there?
Is there anybody alive out there?

I just want to hear some rhythm (you swoon.)
I just want to hear some rhythm (you swoon.)
I just want to feel your rhythm.
I just want to feel your rhythm.
I just want to feel your rhythm.
I just want to feel your rhythm.
I just want to feel your rhythm.
